Not much of a choice

I can just see clearly enough again to write this. My old nemesis, Madame Migraine, has paid me another visit, blurring my vision.

I recently read that people who suffer from migraines have a ’super brain‘. They think faster and more intensely than others, until at some point the system overloads and shuts down.

Something like that.

Apparently, quite a few famous minds belonged to this club: Julius Caesar, Napoleon Bonaparte, Charles Darwin, Sigmund Freud, Friedrich Nietzsche, Virginia Woolf.

My modesty, of course, prevents me from assuming that I belong to that exclusive club. Indeed, it is very likely that I am one of many ‚ordinary‘ migraine sufferers.

But, just hypothetically, I sometimes ask myself the question: would you rather have a super brain and migraines, or be stupid without headaches?

I’m not sure what I’d choose.

Fortunately, it’s not a choice I have to make.
