Sitting through a Q&A with a literary agent. At some point I notice that the vast majority of the aspiring authors are female. Seventy, to be precise. Only six men.

I ask the agent about the gender ratio of the authors represented by her agency. She doesn’t know.

The future of books, it seems, is female. Time to transform, I suppose. I put it on my to-do list.
