Yesterday I learnt that the claim that there are now more humans alive than have ever lived (and died) before is a modern myth. In fact, the dead still outnumber the living by a wide margin. Scientific estimates put their number at about 110 billion. A bit sad, as I had found the idea quite inspiring: what if all the dead had reincarnated at the same time with a sinister plan to destroy the earth? Or—more optimistically—to save it?
